The API can be used by anyone who wants to manage their domains and account or create their own experience for registering, purchasing, and managing domains. Refer to the Reseller Control Center for help. Integrate first with the OTE environment to verify that you are calling the API properly before going live with calls to the Production environment.

If you need to purchase any products such as a domain, you will need a Good as Gold account to complete transactions. The API will deduct the fixed rates of your purchase from this account so be sure to fund it accordingly. To collect money from your customers, you will need to set up your own payment processors.

It is important to understand the which category you fall under so you can use the API correctly. When I log onto the new cpanel, I don't have any means of upgrading php and mysql. I suspect that I have to log on through SSH and run and update to php that way. However, when I log on with that site's credentials, it doesn't have root access to update it.

When I log onto it using the server admin credentials, it defaults back to the first site created and I would imaging if I run the php update there, it will update all sites on the server. I suspect that this VPS has a lot more than your sites running on it, it's probably got a few hundred used by many clients.

It might be time to get yourself a VM or two out at one of the cloud vendors. It's not shared hosting, it's Virtual Private Server. I suspect it's a Linus server running on a VM. I have a bunch of sites on my private server. I logged in as my server admin and I was able to switch to root access. Move to just about anyone else. I've always had issues with any hosting on GoDaddy. Now make sure you have selected the latest working PHP version from the drop down list and check the box next to Zip option, which is the second last in the list.

Click on save button at the bottom left and you are done. There is one more thing to do for the changes to take effect. After following all the above mentioned steps, I went back to WordPress admin area and tried to run duplicator. And much to my delight, it worked just fine. For those hosting service providers where you do not get an option to select PHP version and simply enable the Zip module.

You will need to install the Zip Archive module separately manually. Here is how you can do that: 1. Go back to Software section of cPanel Admin. Select PHP Processes and kill all the processes for the changes to take effect. Try using the archive or compress and extract feature in your hosting account now. If none of the above method works with your hosting service provider, I suggest you call their technical support department and simply ask them to enable PHP Zip Archive module on your hosting account.

They should do it in a minute. I hope this article fixed your problem. In case you are still facing the same problem with GoDaddy hosting or you are getting some other error message. That guide seems unneccessarily complicated. I use Wordpress, so it would be much easier to open a new Cpanel account, install Wordpress and upload the backup using Updraft or similar. We are on old hosting account and godaddy just keep users with old php which has bug and vulnerabilities and can not update to new version. This is not a solution to tell clients to change the hosting plan, why not give solution to change the hosting provider.

Offer it to me at the same terms as my current plan which includes no time limit and I'll do it. This is not a great way to treat your older more loyal customers.

I've spent thousands with Godaddy over the years and only purchased the Linux hosting I have on your recommendation. It was always more than I needed. Now it seems I will have to change and "purchase" a new plan because I need to update my PHP new plugins don't work with the old one. I've been advised to move to Siteground, and this may do it for me I completely agree. Just like cell companies trying to get out of their original unlimited plans.

Now screwing over long time loyal customers. I am out. Plus they are charging a ridiculous fee for SSL certs. Catch the highlights from GoDaddy Open Join the discussion. View This Post. Any other suggestions? I generally buy my domains with Godaddy as I have been for years. I have a lot of clients who have Godaddy just because they set their accounts up that way not knowing of any other options.
